Fit for a King

Hello Pikey fans! It’s time for some fresh news! Over the past 2 weeks or so, we have been attempting King Odeen, the last task stopping us from zoning into the first Frostcrypt instance. Comparisons to GoD flagging events come to mind – since it was a complete bitch to do. But, we got there in the end!

I think the thing we have to be most proud of is the fact that the last 2 ‘phases’ only took 1 attempt between them – it was the other 2 which took some time to learn. It was nice to see people nagging to actually do this event, despite the inevitable wiping it would take to get to grips with the new phases. The sad thing was, with so many farm targets to aim for at the moment, nights to progress were not common. However, with everyone’s motivation to break into FC, missing the occasionally farm target did not take it’s toll in any way!

Because this event has numerous phases, each with different scripts, I have limited screenshots. Not knowing what to come means my ‘screenshot brain’ was not in gear. So, this update is a little screenshot bare, so instead I decided to make that lovely edit above.

Let’s get this update underway then!

Here is the King’s falling HP. Notice the first 40% is missing – that is slack on my part!

This King is a complete wussy. Despite running around all over the place and us having to chase him everywhere, he didn’t even want to die. He’s lucky we took pitty on him.

Here is the second attempt at ‘wooting’. The first ‘take’ was a complete mess, with many not even realising we had won. But, the next try was more, shall we say, fluent.

Which means it’s time for loot!

Sadly, I couldn’t do anything funky with this chest. It was a bit shitty – it broke. It didn’t harm the loot though, so that was a good thing!

After the loot was done, we headed back to Fergarin to get the final update:

After that, we tried to get the Frostcrypt instance so we could do some flag testing. Because of the instance problems, it didn’t come up before we called Night Over. Sod’s law – 10 minutes afterwards, the expedition box appeared and we managed to do some testing with the few remaining people.

So that’s it guys, we’re in Frostcrypt 1! It might be a while before you see some updates from there on here, because we have to do the remaining flagging bits and get everybody able to zone in. Hopefully it won’t be too far away however!

A Sad Good-Luck

Which brings me onto the next part of the news – a sad part infact. Many people who read this news page are those who are in D`Pikey, or have been in the past and check back to see what we are up to. And this involves everyone. Kasha will hate me for this because he doesn’t like the attention – but it is tuff.

With his Real Life taking a turn for the better, Kasha has decided it is time for him to take a while away from the game and see where the real life takes him. I am certain everyone from D`Pikey, past and present, would like to wish Kasha goodluck and issue him with a thankyou for all the time he has put into the guild to keep it running through the good and the bad times.

So from everybody: Thank you Kasha – you are, indeed – a D`Pikey legend. Good luck with where ever Real Life takes you!

Hey Pikey fans! Man it’s been a long time hasn’t it? I’ll keep this intro short because this updates going to be a little different. I’m sorry some new news took so long, but we made hard work out of this new event so you can have a detailed manual for dealing with traitors for future reference!

How to deal with a traitor: The Idiot’s Guide

Step 1: Find a traitor

First off, you need to find a traitor. Ours was a chap called High Lorekeeper Udengar Dergon. Yours might be different but as long as it qualifies as a traitor this will work. I have no idea what exactly Udengar did wrong as I have not being paying that much attention to Frostcrypt lore but I’m sure the reason was just. Make sure you gather some sort of evidence as confronting traitors with solid proof really gets on their tits.

Step 2: Blab to their mates

One of the best things you can do to help beat down a traitor is tell their mates about what they’ve been doing. Of course, some will remain loyal but those less close may just be willing to listen to your story. I have it on good authority from Adroxia, that getting people drunk is also another good way to convince them of something. I’m not sure exactly what she meant, but if you have any idea, please send me a tell and the best reason will get put on the next news update!

Step 3: Dispose of the bumboys

There is an important point that everyone should know about traitors and that is they usually employ bodyguards. Doing dirty backstabbing work can be very dangerous, and the most skilled of traitors will get protection whilst they do it. Should you ever want to confront a traitor it is vital that you prepare yourself for some sort of assistance from his bumboy bodyguards. Usually, there is a fat one and a thin one but this is not always the case.

Step 4: Confront the backstabber

When you’ve finally got past the bodyguards you can start the real integregation. Depending on the size of the situation that your traitor has been getting himself into, they may wish to fight to the death. This is a very common happening throughout life so be prepared. You’ll occasionally find traitors are weak but there is a few that are definately a bit beefy. Cover all your weaknesses and get ready to fight. Make sure you win, otherwise the traitor has a chance to flee and all your hard work will be a waste!

Step 5: Rez the dead

After every good fight, you need to clean up. Leave no evidence!

Step 6: Loot and Leave

Traitors usually have what your looking for. In our case it was nice new loot. Yours might be different depending on what you were after.
